Safety first. WireSight is a planning and record-keeping tool. It shows what you tagged and what the scanner measured, and it may be incomplete. It doesn't detect live wires. Always turn off power at the breaker, test before you touch, verify before cutting or drilling, and follow local electrical code. Hire a licensed electrician for electrical work.

Common questions

Which devices work?

Scanning needs a LiDAR scanner, found on iPhone Pro and Pro Max models (iPhone 12 Pro and newer) and recent iPad Pro models. On other devices you can still open the built-in Demo House to explore the app.

How do I scan a room?

Tap the scan button and move slowly, pointing at the walls. Good light helps. The Light button can turn on the flashlight in dark spaces. Tap Scan Next Area for the next room, and Finish when you're done.

How do I tag outlets and switches?

Pick a device in the tray at the bottom, then tap where it is on the wall or ceiling. Use Existing for what's there now, and Want for what you'd like to add. Hold a device in the tray to pin it to the front.

How do I draw a wire run or measure?

Choose Draw Line, pick a color (Hot, Low Voltage, Home Run or Tape Measure), and tap along the path. Lengths show in feet and inches. Tap End Line when you're done.

An orange "Lost track" banner appeared.

The phone lost its place, usually from moving fast, covering the camera or very low light. Walk back to where you were and point at the walls you already scanned. Tagging starts again once it says "Back on track."

My tags don't line up with the model.

Open the scan, tap Edit, tap one symbol, then choose Line Up Everything and tap where that symbol really is. Everything on that level moves with it.

How do I go back to an earlier version of a scan?

Open the scan, tap View, then History, and pick Go Back to Here. The version you leave is kept, so you can undo it.

How do I save or share a scan?

In Saved Scans, swipe a scan or open it and tap View, then Save to Phone. You'll get a floor plan picture, a 3D view picture, a 3D model file (.usdz) and a backup file.

Where are my scans stored?

Only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them, so save the ones you need first. See the Privacy Policy.
